The Atlantic Seaboard is one of Cape Peninsula’s most exclusive residential areas and is often referred to as Cape Town’s ‘Riviera’. The coastal region stretches from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront on the northern slopes of Table Mountain all the way along the western side of the peninsula to Hout Bay. This stunning stretch of coastline is connected by one of the most picturesque and scenic drives South Africa has to offer and the properties here fetch unprecedented prices.
There is plenty of foreign investment in the Atlantic Seaboard, with buyers from all over the world competing for a spot of prime real estate along Cape Town’s beautiful coast. There really is no better place for a home to be situated, with the shimmering Atlantic Ocean in front and the magnificent slopes of Lion’s Head and the Twelve Apostles behind. Camps Bay is home to one of the most exclusive and popular beachfronts in the city and boasts a number of excellent restaurants and cafes where one can enjoy sundowners with friends and watch the sunset.
Bantry Bay is another of the Atlantic Seaboard’s more upmarket suburbs offering a variety of luxury homes and apartments overlooking the ocean. Bakoven is often overlooked in favour of the trendier Camps Bay, but it has a charming village appeal and spectacular views. Clifton is world famous for its magnificent beaches that are especially popular because their location offers protection from the ever-present southeasterly wind in Cape Town. Fresnaye is located on the slopes of Lion’s Head and is one of the most fashionable addresses in the city, while Granger Bay is situated on the doorstep of the V & A Waterfront and has stunning views of Table Bay. Mouille Point, Green Point and Sea Point offer more reasonably priced properties, but there is still no doubt whatsoever that property on the Atlantic Seaboard is some of the most sought after in the country.
